Scope of Work

The empanelled consultant or interpreter will be responsible for providing professional language support during field-level and program-related engagements.

1. Interpretation Support

The consultant will provide real-time verbal interpretation between:

1. Telugu and English
2. Marathi and English

Interpretation support may be required during:

1. Community interactions
2. Field visits
3. Exposure visits
4. Meetings and workshops
5. Training sessions and presentations

2. Delegation Support

The consultant will help visiting delegates understand local discussions, community narratives, and program interventions. They will also support local stakeholders and community members in communicating effectively with national and international delegates.

3. Coordination Support

The selected consultant will coordinate with the organizing team regarding visit schedules, agenda, and field-level arrangements. The consultant must remain available during the full duration of the assigned engagement at the immersion site.

4. Documentation Support

Where required, the consultant may provide basic translation support for short field notes, presentations, or communication material during visits.

Deliverables

The selected consultant or interpreter will be expected to provide:

1. Accurate and professional interpretation support during assigned visits and events
2. Timely availability as per the agreed schedule
3. Clear, contextually appropriate, and culturally sensitive communication support
4. Basic documentation or short translation support, if required

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Proficiency in Telugu and English and/or Marathi and English
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in interpretation or translation assignments
3. Prior experience in development sector programs, exposure visits, trainings, or workshops will be preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to interact with community members, government officials, and national/international delegates

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in:

1. Livelihoods and rural development programs
2. DAY-NRLM and community institution strengthening programs
3. Exposure and immersion visits
4. Development sector workshops and training programs
5. Community-based programs and field facilitation

Financial Criteria

The RFP does not specify any minimum turnover, net worth, or financial eligibility requirement. Applicants are required to quote their proposed professional fee per day.

Payment will be made on a per-day engagement basis as per the agreed professional fee or rate. The number of paid engagement days will depend on the duration of delegation visits and assignment requirements.

Travel, accommodation, and local conveyance, wherever applicable, will be provided or reimbursed as per the organization’s norms.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on the following parameters:

1. Relevant interpretation experience
2. Language proficiency
3. Understanding of development sector terminology
4. Availability and flexibility for travel
5. Proposed daily professional fee

Tender Fee and EMD

The RFP does not mention any tender fee or Earnest Money Deposit requirement. Therefore, applicants should treat these as not specified / not applicable, unless clarified by the organization.
