Scope of Work

The selected service provider/training institute will conduct a 2-day executive development training programme titled “Power Plant Familiarization, Power Market, Commercial, Costing & Regulatory Framework.”

The training will cover both technical and commercial aspects of the Indian power sector, including power plant operations, market structure, power trading, scheduling, tariff modelling, cost estimation, regulatory framework and emerging market instruments.

Day 1: Power Plant Overview, Power Markets & Regulatory Framework

The first day will focus on foundational and regulatory aspects of the electricity sector. Major topics include:

  1. Pre-training assessment
  2. Types of power plants: thermal, hydro, nuclear and renewable energy
  3. Major systems and equipment overview
  4. Generation process and performance parameters
  5. All India generation capacity and market trends
  6. Electricity Act, 2003 – key provisions
  7. National Electricity Policy
  8. Draft National Electricity Policy, 2026
  9. Long-term, medium-term and short-term power markets
  10. Bilateral trading, power exchange, power banking, direct trading and DSM
  11. Power exchange products such as DAM, RTM, TAM and GDAM

Pre-Qualification Criteria

The bid document identifies the required service category as Vocational Training Services – Offline, Buyer’s Location, On-the-job Training. The service provider should be registered on GeM and should be eligible to provide vocational training services under the relevant category.
