Godrej Foundation Launches ‘Tomorrow Makers’ to Support India’s High-Potential Students from Underserved Communities

Godrej Foundation has launched Tomorrow Makers, a national platform to identify and support high-potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds through STEM, arts, invention, defence training, mentorship, coaching and scholarships.

Mumbai, May 29, 2026: The Godrej Foundation has announced the launch of Tomorrow Makers, a national platform designed to identify, support and nurture high-potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds across India. The initiative aims to bridge the opportunity gap for talented young learners by connecting them with structured learning pathways, mentorship, advanced coaching, scholarships, peer networks and career-focused development programmes.

Tomorrow Makers has been launched with the belief that talent is widely present across India, but access to the right opportunities remains uneven, particularly for students from underserved communities. The platform will support students from Classes 6 to 12, as well as graduates, by helping them access high-quality programmes in areas such as STEM, invention and making, arts and defence careers.

A National Platform to Unlock Untapped Talent

The initiative seeks to create a stronger pipeline of future innovators, researchers, artists, entrepreneurs, public leaders and defence aspirants. Through its partner network, Tomorrow Makers will identify promising students and guide them into specialised programmes based on their abilities, interests and potential.

The platform brings together several education, skilling and talent development organisations that will support students at different stages of their learning journey. The four major pathways under the programme include STEM, Invention and Making, Arts, and Defence.

For students in Classes 10 to 12 with strong aptitude in science and mathematics, Tomorrow Makers has partnered with Dakshana and Avanti Fellows to provide support for competitive examination preparation, including JEE and NEET coaching. These pathways are expected to help meritorious students from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for careers in engineering, medicine, technology and related fields.

For younger students in Classes 6 and 7, organisations such as Genwise and MakerGhat will offer advanced learning opportunities through summer camps, workshops, robotics, computing, mathematics and exposure to national and global competitions.

Support for Arts, Theatre and Defence Aspirants

Tomorrow Makers also places strong emphasis on creative and non-traditional career pathways. Under the arts pathway, the platform has partnered with Slam Out Loud to provide mentorship, skill development and performance opportunities for children with aptitude in music, drama, writing and other forms of creative expression.

For graduates with talent in drama and theatre, Tomorrow Makers will support access to professional training through Drama School Mumbai. This is expected to help young artists from underrepresented backgrounds gain exposure, training and pathways into the performing arts ecosystem.

The platform also supports graduates interested in defence careers. Through partnerships with Delta Squad Foundation and Yuvatejas, eligible candidates will receive training and preparation support for defence service examinations, leadership development and exposure to discipline-driven career pathways.

Scholarships and Need-Based Support

A key component of Tomorrow Makers is its focus on affordability and inclusion. The platform will provide need-based scholarships to students who are unable to afford the cost of participating in these programmes.

While registrations are open to high-potential students across India, the programme is expected to prioritise learners from low-income households. According to the initiative’s stated approach, students from economically weaker backgrounds are likely to form a major share of the cohort each year.

This makes Tomorrow Makers an important intervention in India’s education and skill development landscape, particularly at a time when access to mentorship, advanced learning ecosystems and career-linked opportunities remains uneven across regions and socio-economic groups.

Leadership Vision Behind Tomorrow Makers

Omar Momin, Chief Executive Officer of Godrej Foundation, said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity by building structured pathways for young people from across regions and socio-economic backgrounds. He highlighted that India has one of the world’s largest school-going populations, but many students still lack access to mentorship, advanced learning and talent acceleration ecosystems.

Through Tomorrow Makers, the foundation aims to help students realise their potential and create long-term social impact by supporting future innovators, researchers, artists, entrepreneurs, soldiers and public leaders.

Avanti Fellows’ co-CEO Vandana Goyal said the platform can help gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds access better academic opportunities, particularly in STEM fields. She noted that many talented students are unable to enter elite institutions because of socio-economic barriers.

Delta Squad Foundation founder Esan said the partnership will help make leadership training and nation-building opportunities more accessible to deserving young Indians from diverse backgrounds.

Slam Out Loud founder Jigyasa Labroo said the initiative will help young artists from less privileged backgrounds receive the right training, mentorship and exposure to represent India’s diverse stories through creative expression.

After registration, students will be directed to an online assessment process. The assessment will evaluate potential in areas such as science, invention, arts and endurance, depending on the student’s age group and chosen pathway.

For students in Classes 6 and 7, the test will be available in multiple Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada and Malayalam. Students in Classes 11 and 12 will be able to take the assessment in English.

Candidates who clear the required stages of assessment will be placed in programmes run by the Godrej Foundation’s network of non-profit partner organisations with expertise in specific career pathways.

The launch of Tomorrow Makers comes at a time when India is increasingly focusing on future-ready education, skill development, innovation, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth.
