Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the NCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026–27 must fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Nationality

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required qualification for the specific apprentice discipline. The qualification must be from an institute, board, council or university recognised by AICTE, UGC, BTE, NCVT, SCVT or the appropriate authority.

The notification specifies that the relevant institute or university must be functional and operational in Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh.

Age Limit

The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 26 years as on 1 June 2026.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on merit. Candidates will be shortlisted according to marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination.

For Graduate and Diploma Apprentice positions, merit will be prepared based on marks scored in the respective qualifying examination. For ITI Trade Apprentice positions, merit will be prepared on the basis of the average percentage of marks obtained in Class 10 and the relevant National Trade Certificate or State Trade Certificate.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for scrutiny of original documents. The final engagement will be subject to eligibility verification and medical fitness as per prescribed standards.

Graduate and Diploma Apprentice candidates must register and apply through the NATS portal.

Trade Apprentice candidates must register and apply through the NAPS portal.

Stipend and Training Conditions

The monthly stipend for apprentice trainees will range from ₹9,600 to ₹13,700, depending on the discipline. The stipend for Graduate and Diploma Apprentices includes the Government of India share paid through Direct Benefit Transfer, while the stipend for Trade Apprentices will be paid by NCL.

The apprenticeship engagement is for training purposes only and does not guarantee regular employment in NCL. Apprentices will not be entitled to accommodation, food, lodging or transport during the training period.
