In a significant development for skill-trained youth in Bihar, a large-scale recruitment drive is set to be conducted at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Darbhanga, on April 16, 2026. The initiative, organized in collaboration with leading manufacturing company Motherson Group, Noida, aims to fill over 400 positions across technical and non-technical roles.
Major Hiring Drive Targeting ITI and Entry-Level Candidates
The recruitment campaign will offer employment opportunities for ITI-certified candidates as well as 10th and 12th pass youth, reflecting a broader inclusion strategy. According to official information, the vacancies include:
  1. 150+ ITI Apprentice Positions
  2. 250+ Machine Operator Roles (On Company Payroll)
The hiring spans multiple trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Machinist, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Wireman, MMV, COPA, Plumber, and Welder, opening doors for candidates from diverse technical backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria and Candidate Profile
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  1. Educational Qualification: ITI diploma from a recognized institute OR 10th/12th pass
  2. Age Limit: 18 to 35 years
  3. Pass-out Year: 2015 to 2024
  4. Final Year Students: Eligible with a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC)
This wide eligibility window is expected to attract a large number of applicants, particularly from rural and semi-urban regions.
Salary Structure and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive:
  1. ITI Candidates: ₹21,360 per month (including basic pay and attendance allowance)
  2. 10th/12th Pass Candidates: ₹20,342 per month
In addition to wages, the company has indicated provision of basic workplace facilities, including meals, tea/snacks, and a structured industrial work environment at its Noida plant.
Transparent Selection Process with Same-Day Offer Letters
The recruitment process will be conducted on-site at Government ITI Darbhanga and will include:
  1. Document Verification
  2. Oral Test / Trade Test
  3. Personal Interview
Candidates are required to report at 10:00 AM with original documents, Aadhaar card, photographs, and copies of certificates.
Notably, offer letters may be issued on the same day, and no recruitment fees will be charged. Authorities have also advised candidates to remain cautious of unauthorized agents.
Logistical Arrangements and Institutional Support
To manage the anticipated high turnout, the institute has arranged:
  1. Help desks for candidate assistance
  2. Drinking water facilities
  3. First aid support
  4. Temporary accommodation arrangements
Officials expect participation from multiple districts, citing previous placement drives where students secured jobs in reputed companies.
Boost to Employment, But Migration Continues
While the initiative represents one of the largest single-day recruitment drives in the region, it also highlights a continuing trend—employment opportunities concentrated in industrial hubs like Noida.
Although such drives provide immediate job access, they also underscore the limited availability of local industrial employment in Tier-2 and Tier-3 regions. For many candidates, this means relocation remains a necessity.
Opportunity for Post-Pandemic Workforce Reintegration
The inclusion of 10th and 12th pass candidates is particularly noteworthy, as it addresses the employment gap created during the pandemic years. Many young individuals who experienced disrupted education and delayed job entry may find this drive a critical opportunity to enter the workforce.
SkillCouncils Insight
This recruitment initiative reflects both progress and challenges within India’s skill ecosystem. While large-scale hiring drives improve job accessibility, there remains a pressing need for:
  1. Stronger local job creation ecosystems
  2. Higher wage benchmarks aligned with skill levels
  3. Structured career progression pathways
  4. Balanced regional industrial development
As India advances toward becoming a global manufacturing hub, the focus must shift from quantity of jobs to quality and sustainability of employment.
