Team India delivered an impressive performance at the Global Skills Challenge Australia 2026, winning five medals — three gold, one silver and one bronze — and reinforcing the country’s rising position in global technical and vocational excellence. The achievement comes at a crucial time as India prepares for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, from 22 to 27 September 2026.
The Global Skills Challenge Australia 2026 was held from 23 to 29 June 2026 and brought together nearly 600 competitors, experts, translators and officials from 16 WorldSkills member countries, including India, Australia, China, Japan, the United States, France, South Korea and Austria.

The event was designed as a full-scale simulation of the WorldSkills Competition, allowing participants to compete under international assessment standards and become familiar with global competition processes, equipment and evaluation systems.
