Job Description
Job Title: TOT Certified Trainer – Optical Fiber Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a TOT (Training of Trainers) Certified Optical Fiber Technician Trainer to deliver high-quality technical training in the field of optical fiber installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance. The trainer will be responsible for developing skills among trainees, preparing them for roles in telecom and networking sectors, and ensuring that all training meets NSQF standards and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Training Delivery:
    1. Conduct theoretical and practical sessions on optical fiber technologies including splicing, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
    2. Train students as per the prescribed NSQF Level curriculum and skill development guidelines.
    3. Demonstrate the use of optical fiber tools such as OTDR, splicing machines, power meters, etc.
  2. Content Development & Planning:
    1. Prepare lesson plans, training materials, manuals, and assessments.
    2. Ensure course content is up to date with current industry standards and best practices.
  3. Assessment & Evaluation:
    1. Conduct pre-assessments, progress evaluations, and final skill tests of trainees.
    2. Provide feedback and guidance to help trainees improve performance.
  4. Lab & Equipment Management:
    1. Maintain training lab, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
    2. Ensure safety procedures are followed during practical sessions.
  5. Reporting & Documentation:
    1. Maintain attendance, training progress records, and feedback forms.
    2. Submit reports to training providers or Sector Skill Councils as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  1. Educational Qualification: Diploma/ITI in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or related field.
  2. Certification: Must be TOT Certified by the relevant Sector Skill Council (e.g., ESSCI or TSSC) for Optical Fiber Technician job role.
  3. Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of industry experience in optical fiber networks and 1+ year as a trainer preferred.
  4. Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of FTTH, optical cable laying, testing procedures, and telecom infrastructure.

Skills & Competencies:
  1. In-depth knowledge of optical fiber installation, splicing, and testing
  2. Excellent presentation and communication skills
  3. Ability to engage and motivate trainees
  4. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  5. Comfortable with MS Office and digital training tools

Work Environment:
  1. Classroom and hands-on lab-based training settings
  2. May involve travel to training centers or field sites
  3. Regular interaction with students, technical teams, and training partners
